Golf Simulator PCs and Software

Simulator software turns your launch monitor's shot data into golf you can play, and most of it runs on a Windows PC. Most rooms should pick the software their launch monitor supports first, then choose a PC that runs it.

Buying guide

Start with your launch monitor

Most rooms should pick software first and the PC second. Your launch monitor decides which software you can run, and the software decides how much computer you need.

Most launch monitor brands have their own software, plus support for third-party platforms. Many serious sim builders run one of each: the brand software for practice and data, and a third-party platform for a bigger course library.

Brand software

Brand software is built for that brand's hardware. We carry add-ons for SkyTrak, Foresight Sports (FSX), Uneekor, FlightScope, ProTee VX and Full Swing KIT. Check each listing for the units it supports. The Foresight add-on, for example, works with the GC3, GCQuad, Falcon and QuadMAX.

Third-party platforms

  • GSPro. A community-driven platform with one of the largest crowd-sourced course libraries available. The GSPro First Year License includes a lifetime software license, the first year of subscription and 300+ courses.
  • E6 Connect. Known for multiplayer support and broad launch monitor compatibility. The Home Lifetime License includes 27 courses, 17 practice areas, mini games, online events and peer-to-peer play.

Subscription terms differ by platform. Some are a one-time license and others have annual fees, so check the listing or ask SimSquad before you buy.

Pick a PC that fits the software

Most simulator software runs on a Windows PC with a recent graphics card. Requirements change with each software version, so check the listing for the software you plan to run. Your projector matters too: if you are running 4K, step up from the entry tier.

  • SurfThing SG3-5602. The entry desktop in the SG3 lineup, built for 1080p simulator software with portable launch monitors.
  • SurfThing SG3-5702, SG3-5702Ti and SG3-5802. The step-up tiers for 4K-capable performance.
  • RoS PC Desktop Bundle. A desktop tower with a 24 inch MSI monitor (touchscreen option available) and a Logitech keyboard and mouse, in RTX 5070 or RTX 5080 configurations.
  • RoS Golf Simulator Laptop. For setups that move between rooms or travel. For a permanent room, a desktop gives you more thermal headroom for long sessions.

Cables, mounts and the rest

An HDMI cable, a laptop stand or a control box finishes the tech side of the room. Find them in golf simulator tech accessories.

Questions

Common questions

What software do I need for a golf simulator?

Start with what your launch monitor supports. Most brands have their own software, and many also work with third-party platforms like GSPro and E6 Connect.

Do I need a PC for golf simulator software?

For most platforms, yes. GSPro and E6 Connect run on a Windows PC, while some brand apps also run on iOS or Android, so check the listing for the software you want.

Which PC should I get for 4K?

Step up from the entry SurfThing SG3-5602, which is built for 1080p. The SG3-5702, SG3-5702Ti and SG3-5802 are the tiers for 4K-capable performance.

Is golf simulator software a one-time purchase?

It depends on the platform. Some ship with a one-time license and others have annual subscription fees, so check the listing before you buy.

Should I get a laptop or a desktop?

A laptop makes sense if your setup moves between rooms or travels. For a permanent room, a desktop gives you more thermal headroom for long sessions.
