AI Sim Sense
IT READS THE ROOM AND TUNES ITSELF
BenQ built an AI processing unit into the AK900ST that looks at the course on screen, the light in your room, and the impact screen itself, then adjusts color, contrast and clarity in real time. Most projectors make you pick a picture mode and live with it. This one keeps adjusting as the light in the room changes through the day.
6,000 ANSI Lumens
BRIGHT ENOUGH FOR A ROOM WITH WINDOWS
Impact screens eat light, and most sim rooms are not blacked out. At 6,000 ANSI lumens the AK900ST holds a bright, saturated picture on a large screen with ambient light in the room, which is where cheaper projectors wash out and start looking grey.
Lens Shift, Not Just Keystone
PUT IT WHERE THE ROOM ALLOWS
Vertical lens shift of plus or minus 60% and horizontal of plus or minus 23% let you move the image optically rather than digitally. That matters in a sim bay: keystone correction squeezes pixels to square up a picture, lens shift does not. If your mount point is off centre or your ceiling is awkward, this is the feature that saves the install.
Screen Fill For Sim Aspect Ratios
FILLS A 1:1 OR 5:4 SCREEN PROPERLY
Golf screens are not 16:9. The AK900ST outputs 1:1, 5:4, 3:2, 4:3, 16:10 and 16:9, so you fill the screen you actually own instead of living with black bars or cropping the top of your ball flight.
From Our SimSquad
WHO THE AK900ST IS FOR
The AK900ST is the one we reach for when the room is the problem rather than the budget. Lens shift and 6,000 lumens solve the two install headaches we see most: a mount point that cannot sit centered, and a room with windows nobody wants to black out. If your bay is centered and light controlled, the AK800ST gives you the same engine and the same picture processing for less, and we would rather you put the difference into the screen.
What is the BenQ AK900ST?
The BenQ AK900ST is a true 4K UHD laser projector built specifically for golf simulation. 6,000 ANSI lumens, a 0.81 to 0.89 short throw ratio, a laser light source rated for 20,000 hours in normal mode, and BenQ's AI Sim Sense processing that tunes the picture to your room and your impact screen in real time.
It also does the thing golf projectors are supposed to do and most do not: it fills non standard screen shapes. 16:9, 16:10, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4, 1:1 are all supported natively, so a 1:1 or 5:4 impact screen gets a properly filled picture.
The feature that separates the AK900ST from the rest of the lineup is optical lens shift. Vertical plus or minus 60% and horizontal plus or minus 23% means you can place the projector where the room allows and move the image optically, rather than distorting it with keystone correction.
Why Choose the BenQ AK900ST?
Straight framing: both of the new AK models are strong sim projectors and the right one depends on your room and your screen.
Choose the AK900ST if your room has ambient light you cannot control, if your screen is large, or if your mount point is off centre and you need lens shift to square the image without keystone. It is the brighter unit and the only one of the two with optical lens shift.
Choose the AK800ST instead if your mount sits roughly centered on the screen and your room is reasonably light controlled. It gives you the same 4K laser engine, the same AI Sim Sense and the same screen fill ratios in a smaller, lighter and less expensive body.

Frequently Asked Questions
For a 16:9 image: 150 inch needs 8.8 to 9.7 ft, 180 inch needs 10.6 to 11.6 ft, 200 inch needs 11.8 to 12.9 ft, 240 inch needs 14.1 to 15.5 ft, 280 inch needs 16.5 to 18.1 ft. Those are BenQ's published figures and the range within each one is the zoom travel. Send us your room depth and screen size and we will confirm it fits before you order.
Yes. Vertical lens shift of plus or minus 60% and horizontal of plus or minus 23%. Lens shift moves the image optically instead of digitally, so you keep full resolution. The projector also has 3D keystone correction of plus or minus 30 degrees on the vertical, horizontal and rotation axes if you need it on top.
Yes. Input lag is 18.1ms at 4K 60Hz and drops to 4.8ms at 1080p 240Hz, and the projector supports refresh rates from 23Hz to 240Hz. Automatic low latency mode engages on its own when it sees a game source. For golf simulation any of these figures is well below what a player can perceive between impact and ball flight.
Yes, and this is one of the reasons to buy a golf specific projector. The AK900ST outputs 16:9, 16:10, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4, 1:1 natively. A standard home theatre projector only does 16:9 and 4:3, which on a square sim screen means black bars or a cropped picture.
No. This is a laser projector, not a lamp projector. BenQ rates the light source at 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 hours in ECO. At three hours of use a day that is well over fifteen years, so there is no consumable to budget for.
Yes, and it is sold separately. Both models carry standard ceiling mount screw holes on the base and a full 3D keystone correction range, so they work with our RoS Ceiling Mount or a floor enclosure such as the SwingShield. Tell us your ceiling height and we will confirm the right mount before you order.
Yes. These are standard HDMI projectors, so anything your PC outputs will display: GSPro, E6 Connect, TGC, FSX, Awesome Golf and the rest. The automatic low latency mode engages on its own when it detects a game source, so you do not have to remember to switch picture modes before you hit.
