The Carl's Place Standard Golf Impact Screen is an affordable, entry-level option perfect for beginners or first-time sim builders. It's designed to handle real golf balls at speeds up to 250 mph—yes, even if your neighbor is a bodybuilder who golfs.
Finishing Options
- Classic: 2.5" black vinyl edges with grommets all the way around. Grommets are 3/4" OD and 3/8" ID with a smooth, rounded front.
- Classic with Flaps: Includes 7" flaps edged with 1" loop fastener strips to cover frame and attach to enclosure or walls.
- Classic with Loop Fastener: 1" loop fastener strips all the way around the screen. Great for custom setups with hook fasteners.
Aspect Ratio
We recommend building your DIY screen to match your projector’s aspect ratio. However, many prioritize screen size to fit the space first, and projection image second. Choose what matters most to your setup.
Mounting Your Screen
We recommend 6" or 9" black ball bungees, available in any quantity you need.

- Rear-Projection: Not supported—front projection only.
- Clearance Items: Sold as-is, non-returnable. May include blemishes or defects but still functional.
Care & Use
- Wear & Tear: Screens will show wear over time. Commercial use accelerates aging.
- Distance: Stand at least 10–12 feet away from the screen.
- Bounceback: Tensioning and distance reduce bounceback. Let the screen “give” slightly.
- Wrinkles: Will relax naturally with time and gravity. Use a consumer-grade steamer with distilled water if needed.
- Storage: Clean and dry the screen before storing. Fold loosely to avoid deep wrinkles.
Installation Tips
- Which Side Faces Golfer: The front has the Carl’s Place logo and smooth grommet face. That’s the side that should face the golfer.
- Fasteners: Use 6" or 9" ball bungees. Avoid rigid fastening—allow for movement.
- Frame Fit: Follow the 2-inch guideline: screen should be no more than 2” smaller or larger than your frame width.
- Wall Distance: Mount the screen at least 12–16 inches from any walls or poles.
