Pair Your SkyTrak to Your Device

iPad Users:

You can pair your SkyTrak to your iPad in one of two ways:

1. Via a Direct Wi-Fi connection

Follow the instructions in the SkyTrak software application to pair your iPad directly to SkyTrak via its Wi-Fi signal. Your iPad will NOT have an internet connection when connected in this manner. 

2. Via a Home Network Connection

SkyTrak can use your Wi-Fi home network to pair with your iPad by connecting to your wireless network router, just like your computer and mobile devices do. SkyTrak will communicate with the software on your iPad through your router. Plus, you will retain access to the internet on your iPad.

PC Users:

You can pair SkyTrak with PC in one of three ways:

1. Via a Direct Wi-Fi Connection on PC

Click on the Wi-Fi signal icon on your PC and select SkyTrak from the drop-down menu, click connect.

2. Via a Direct USB Cable Connection

Connect the micro USB cable to the SkyTrak device and a USB port on your PC

3. Via a Home Network Connection

SkyTrak can use your Wi-Fi home network to pair with your PC by connecting to your wireless network router, just like your computer and mobile devices do. SkyTrak will communicate with the software on your PC through your router. Plus, you will retain access to the internet on your PC.

SkyTrak Retractable Golf Simulator FAQ

How much space do you recommend for the SkyTrak HomeCourse?

We recommend at a minimum 8'6" high by 10'6" wide by 10 feet long.

Since ceiling height is usually the biggest limitation, be sure to measure your ceiling height, ensure that it is at least 8'6" high and ensure you can take a comfortable backswing in your space. Some backswings may be higher than 8'6" so be sure to check this limitation.

What else do I need to finish my golf simulator setup with the SkyTrak HomeCourse?

At a minimum, you will need the following:

• Compatible Computer, iPad, or other Device (see FAQ below for device requirements)
• If you are using an iPad, you will need a Lighting Digital AV Adapter to connect your iPad to the HDMI Cable

Other accessories such as ball trays, club racks, alignment sticks, seating, etc. can surely be added. The possibilities are endless to make your golf simulator setup your own.

How do I pair the SkyTrak to a projector?

Unfortunately, we do not offer installation for our golf simulators, but we are more than happy to answer any questions you have both pre and post-purchase. Most of our products also have instructional videos we can share with you to make the installation process as simple as possible.

How does the SkyTrak work?

SkyTrak uses photometric technology meaning it uses high-speed cameras to capture key ball data metrics & measurements immediately after impact. This ball data is then fed through SkyTrak's advanced algorithms to calculate flight path and distance all while delivering this information to your iPad, PC, or other compatible device. This allows you to view all of the advanced shot statistics along with the shot simulation within seconds of hitting the ball.

What data points does SkyTrak provide?

SkyTrak provides all the core sets of data that you need to improve your game. These data points include:

While other systems take the approach of providing every possible shot data parameter whether it is usable or not, SkyTrak has narrowed this list down to this list of key data points. Whether you are an amateur or a professional, these data points provide any golfer what you need to actually improve your game.

How accurate is the SkyTrak?

Aside from taking our word for it, SkyTrak has been robot tested at Golf Laboratories, #1 independent testing facility in the golf industry. SkyTrak Software FAQ

What software do you recommend with SkyTrak?

The Game Improvement Package gives you access to Longest Drive Competitions, Closest to the Pin Contests, Target Practice, Skills Assessments, Custom weather and course condition settings, 5 Camera Views, Bag Mapping for Club Fitting, Progress Tracking & Charts. To us, the upgrade from the Basic to the Game Improvement is a no-brainer for an additional $99.95/year.

You can use the Game Improvement packages on iPad or PC.

If you are an iPad user and want to play on courses but are not interested in Multiplayer, we usually recommend the Tee Off Package with the included WGT Software. Other popular golf simulator software providers are not compatible with iPads.

If you are a PC user, we usually recommend purchasing the Game Improvement Software option to get started and then upgrade to popular golf simulator software options such as The Golf Club (TGC) or e6 by TruGolf. The WGT Software included in the Tee Off Package is not compatible with PC Computers.

How do I play real courses with SkyTrak?

Does SkyTrak offer multi-player gameplay?

In order to support multiplayer gameplay with SkyTrak you will need three things:

1) Game Improvement Software Package

2) PC Computer

3) Subscription to either The Golf Club (TGC) or e6 by TruGolf Software - these software options are available for purchase on their respective websites.

WGT does not support multi-player gameplay and is compatible with Apple Products only.

How do I care for my SkyTrak?

How do I set up my alignment with SkyTrak?

SkyTrak has designed the simplest method of ball placement on the market today. Simply place the ball exactly where the red laser light is pointing and hit your shot. Please also make sure to follow these tips to ensure proper reading of your shot:

• Make sure the SkyTrak is raised to be level with the hitting surface
• Place the SkyTrak exactly parallel to your intended target
• Use the recommended laser distance of 12" 
• For optimal spin data readings, place the logo of the golf ball directly toward the SkyTrak Lens prior to hitting

Is it true that there is a slight delay with the SkyTrak?

You may experience a slight few second delay between when you hit your shot until SkyTrak is able to display the simulation - the good thing is, it is avoidable. The delay is due to either slow internet connection or a slow processor in your device rather than an issue with the SkyTrak itself.

For the best possible experience with the SkyTrak, we recommend using a device with a fast processor and ensure that your internet connection is strong. Most of the time, this will reduce the lag to a few milliseconds.

To further improve internet speeds, some customers have used wifi extenders. Some homes have dead spots and metals that interfere with the wifi connection. The extender should help resolve this potential issue.

Can I use the SkyTrak outdoors?

While the SkyTrak performs best indoors, it is still completely portable and can be used outdoors as well. The system has an internal battery that lasts over 4 hours of use making it ideal even for the longest of driving range sessions. Some notes on using the SkyTrak outdoors:

• Be sure to avoid the sun shining or reflecting directly into the lens
• Hitting off of real grass could lead to misreads due to divots and flying grass throwing off the launch monitor readings - we recommend hitting off of an artificial turf or range mat surface if used outside

The system has an internal battery providing over 4 hours of use when fully charged and wirelessly connects to your iPad. Outdoor performance may vary in certain lighting conditions. Avoid the sun shining or reflecting directly into the lens of the SkyTrak device. We suggested using it only under cover if hitting on an outdoor driving range.

Can I use real golf balls with the SkyTrak?

Yes, in fact, the ball you use is an important factor in the accuracy of your SkyTrak readings. For the best performance, use a new or relatively new ball that are in clean condition. Avoid using balls with imperfections such as mud, excessive markings, cut covers, or otherwise identifiable markings on the ball as these will impact SkyTrak's readings. It is also recommended NOT to use yellow golf balls. Otherwise, we recommend using the same ball you normally use when out on the course for the most realistic experience. 

Does the SkyTrak work without a connection?

Whether you have an internet connection or not, SkyTrak will continue to send all data directly to your iPad throughout your practice sessions. The next time you connect to a WiFi network, the data will be synced to your history. This feature allows you to practice anywhere you want without worrying about having access to the internet.

How do I ensure the SkyTrak is accurate with a driver?

When you tee the ball up, it is important to also raise up the SkyTrak to be at the same level as the bottom of the ball. We recommend using a book or other flat surface to ensure you keep the unit level.

What if my product is damaged?

If the product is damaged, you must make note of it immediately when signing for delivery and send photos to customerservice@rainorshinegolf.com the day of delivery. Rain or Shine Golf will pay for shipping defective, damaged, or incorrect merchandise at our cost. We will ensure you get the product you ordered, undamaged, as soon as possible. Items that become damaged after use are non-refundable unless specified under warranty.

How do I place an order?

First, locate the product you would like to purchase and choose the quantity in the selection box. Next, click on the “Add to Cart” button. All of your products will be added to your cart.

You will find a Cart button located at the upper right-hand side of the website. When you are prepared to complete your purchase, ensure your cart is correct and press "Checkout Now".

Enter your shipping/billing and credit card information and follow the instructions on the checkout page. Once your order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation email from us with the details of your order.

How will my order be fulfilled?

As soon as you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation e-mail. This means that we have received your order in our system and pre-authorized your credit card for the purchase.  As soon as we receive your order, we automatically reach out to our suppliers to confirm that it is in stock and available for immediate shipment.  If your item is on backorder or unavailable, we will void the pre-authorization and reach out to you via e-mail.  If your item(s) are available for shipment, we will process the charges and submit the order for shipment.

Will you send an order confirmation via e-mail?

An order confirmation message will be sent to the e-mail address you provide us for each order you submit. We recommend that you print and save the e-mail confirmation for your records. Please be sure to enter your e-mail address correctly to ensure that you receive your order confirmation.

How can I make a change or cancel my order?

How long will it take for my SkyTrak to ship?

SkyTrak ships out with tracking information next business day. If you purchase other accessories with your SkyTrak they may ship direct from the manufacturer so please check the other product pages for estimated shipping times on those items.
