Not to see basic ball data. The Launch Pro displays all 13 ball metrics on its built-in touchscreen without a subscription or connected device — ball speed, carry, spin, apex, and more are there after every shot. What requires a subscription: club data (head speed, smash factor, club path, angle of attack), software connection to any PC, and all simulation. Silver at $199/year covers club data, FSX Pro, and 5 courses. Gold at $499/year adds 25 courses and GSPro/E6 Connect access. GSPro itself is an additional $250/year on top of Gold.

Same camera hardware, same data accuracy — different form factor and price. The Launch Pro has a built-in 3” touchscreen, a 5–7 hour battery, and works indoors and outdoors. The LPi has no display and no battery, must stay plugged in at all times, and is indoor-only. The LPi also requires a subscription to do anything at all — without one, it displays nothing. The Launch Pro shows ball data on-unit even without a subscription. If you know your monitor will live permanently indoors and you’re fine running everything through a PC, the LPi saves you money for the same accuracy.

The Launch Pro uses the same Triscopic High-Speed Camera System as the Foresight GC3 — three cameras measuring ball flight and club delivery optically at the moment of impact. Spin, launch angle, and ball speed are directly measured, not estimated from radar algorithms. In a stable indoor bay with consistent ball placement and controlled lighting, it’s widely regarded as one of the most accurate consumer launch monitors available. For best results indoors, mark your ball spot and keep placement consistent between shots.

A Windows gaming PC is required for FSX Play, FSX 2020, GSPro, and E6 Connect. Minimum specs: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel i5/i7/i9, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 3060 or better. AMD GPUs are not recommended for FSX software. Mac is not supported. FSX Pro can run on iPad (iOS 16.4+) but cannot be mirrored to a projector or TV from iPad — for a proper simulator projection setup, a Windows PC is required. Yes — the Launch Pro works both indoors and outdoors. Its camera-based system handles outdoor conditions more reliably than many radar monitors, which can be sensitive to wind, ambient light, and uneven turf. At the range, place it beside the ball as you would indoors, and ball data displays on the unit after every shot. Club data outdoors requires the same stickers as indoors. Note: the Bushnell LPi is indoor-only and cannot be used outside.

Yes — for the right buyer. The Launch Pro delivers Foresight camera accuracy at a lower entry price than the GC3, with the option to add simulation via subscription rather than paying for it all upfront. If you want to avoid any subscription entirely, the GC3 is the right step up — it includes everything permanently with no annual renewal. If you’re comfortable with a subscription model and don’t need outdoor use, the LPi gives you the same accuracy indoors at a lower hardware price. The Launch Pro requires enough space to swing your club freely — no minimum ball flight distance is needed since it captures data in the hitting zone (7”×10”) directly beside the ball. As a general rule, aim for at least 10’ of ceiling height, 12’ of width, and enough depth to swing your longest club without restriction.
